The Arkansas Razorbacks found out on Sunday that the Texas Bowl is the destination for the team and fans this postseason.

Sam Pittman and his staff had a fairly good idea that the Razorbacks would be going bowling this season. The only question that remained is which bowl game would invite the Hogs. With Covid-19 playing havoc on the season all year, every time had an opportunity to accept a bowl bid. Over the next few days, we will examine the TCU Horned Frogs and what a bowl win could mean to the Hogs

As great as going to a bowl game is for this football team that has struggled horribly over the past few years, the opportunity to get some extra practice in is even more important. Pittman and his staff will get an opportunity to evaluate the Razorbacks’ roster. For the players that are down on the depth chart it is a chance to impress the coaches and get a jump on spring football. Clearly, the players have plenty to play and practice for with the accepting of a bowl game.

Meanwhile, for the coaching staff, the Texas Bowl is a chance to regain some momentum that had stumbled at the end of the season. The early signing period had given the Hogs a much-needed boost in confidence with a top-20 class having resulted. For a team that historically has never performed well in bowl games, the Texas Bowl is an opportunity to turn things around historically. The bowl record for the Razorbacks has not been a kind one over the years, so winning the football game is taking some priority this year.

However, until the Texas Bowl next week. To the fans of Razorbacks, enjoy your time with the family, enjoy the food, and watch some football. With any luck this virus that has messed up everything will be under control next year and we can return to a sense of normalcy. God Bless and Merry Christmas!
