The Arkansas Razorbacks take on the LSU Tigers this Saturday in the Battle for the Golden Boot. Here is what Razorback Nation should expect…

The Razorbacks are 3-4 on the season after last week’s blowout loss to No. 4 ranked Florida Gators 63-35, but with the big loss came some good takeaways. These Hogs can move the ball on offense, and they can stop the ball on defense, but the score does not do the Razorbacks any justice. In the beginning of last weeks outing the Razorbacks were matching the Gators in the first few drives.

The Gators were firing on all cylinders on offense and defense and eventually began running away with the game. They tired out the defense and eventually the wide outs began to blow right by them and catch deep balls all game. This began the Hogs downfall in this matchup; they could score, but not as easily as the Gators offense.  While the Gators were playing some of the best football on offense and defense in the country, the Razorbacks still managed to put 35 up on the board.

With this LSU team playing some of the worst football that they’ve ever played in the past 10 years and this new look Razorbacks team playing some of the best football that they’ve played since the Bobby Petrino era; it is starting to look very good for the Razorbacks on paper. The Razorbacks are a 1-point favor over the Tigers in this outing.

The quarterback matchup between Arkansas’s Feleipe Franks and LSU’s Myles Brennan is an interesting one. Franks has been extremely consistent all season in making the right decisions in the pocket and running for short gains when the opportunities are there; he has led this Razorback team well and has come close to pulling off a few major upsets on the season. Brennan has not been the most eye-catching quarterback this season following behind previous Heisman winner and National champion in Joe Burrow. Brennan has been inconsistent and been questioned on his decision making in the past couple of games.

Both teams have had their struggles, but with one being on the rise and the other falling off their high horse, it should make for a very interesting outing come Saturday. Expect Franks to lead the Hogs to victory over the Tigers with a prediction of 35-21. Rakeem Boyd will rush for 70 yards and a rushing touchdown. Trelon Smith will have 100 yards rushing and a touchdown. Feleipe Franks will pass for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns and Treylon Burks will have 100 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns. Mike Woods will have 35 yards receiving and a touchdown.

The Defense will force a fumble and will get two interceptions due to Myles Brennan’s decision-making skills and inconsistent play at quarterback. Jalen Catalon will have a field day with more than 10 tackles and an interception. Bumper Pool and Grant Morgan will make the run game and short passes over the middle no man’s land. The defensive line will make Myles Brennan’s life rough through all 4 quarters; pressuring him and making it known that they are the superior team on Saturday. You will not want to miss the Battle for the Golden Boot. Go Hogs!
