The Arkansas Razorbacks played Florida this past weekend in the swamp, and got swallowed by the Gators 63-35. This puts the hogs record at 3-4 now, even though it should be 4-3.

The Arkansa Razorbacks had a tough time this past Saturday against the Florida Gators, where they couldn’t keep up offensively. Not only did the team lose the game, they also lost a key player for the season.

Wide Receiver De’Vion Warren is out for the remainder of the season, as he tore his ACL in the Florida game.

The 5’10” Senior from Monroe, Louisiana, has had a great season. While he is a senior, it isn’t his last season with the Arkansas Razorbacks. Due to the pandemic, seniors are granted an extra year of eligibility to play next year.

So far this year, Warren has been a key piece to the hog offense. With 15 total receptions for 278 yards and three touchdowns, it is safe to say that he was the third best receiver on the team. De’Vion even had moments where he looked like the best on the team.

Against Mississippi State, Treylon Burks went out with an injury, and De’Vion stepped up big time. He finished that game with four receptions and 100 yards and a touchdown as the Hogs went on to beat the Bulldogs foe their first SEC win in two years. Even in the next week against Auburn Warren showed out with no Burks. He took on the primary receiver role, and finished with five receptions for 95 yards and two touchdowns. And we all know how that game ended.

What does this mean for Arkansas going forward for this season?

Arkansas has now lost one of their best receivers, and will need player to step up. A guy like Trey Knox, who was highly recruited and had great moments last season would be very helpful. Knox has been almost non-existent so far and fans would love to see him make some plays.

Arkansas has three games remaining in the season, and will need as much offensive power as they can get. Next week against LSU, we have seen their secondary defense get burnt all season long by mediocre teams. Therefore I do think the Razorbacks will be fine in Fayetteville for that one.

Following that game Arkansas plays Missouri, who also has not looked too good this year. They have had good moments, like their win against LSU, but nothing else really. I think the Razorback offense will be able to get it done in that game.

The last game of the season may be the toughest. Alabama is the number one ranked team in the country currently, and it may still be that way come December 5th. Alabama does not have the defense they were known for in the past, but they can still get it done. Arkansas may struggle in this one, and may get beaten worse than the Florida game.
