The unit that has shown the most improvement for the Arkansas Razorbacks this season has been on the defensive side of the ball and cornerback Keuan Parker will add to the talent mixture.

Defensive coordinator Barry Odom must be pleased with the improvement that the Arkansas defense has shown this season. The defensive secondary for the Razorbacks, was beat deep repeatedly last season. However, this season the difference has been night and day for the Razorbacks. Current Arkansas players Montaric Brown, Hudson Clark, and Jalen Catalon have given the Hogs leaders in the secondary. The next step is looking for talented to players to replace those three when they move on from the university of Arkansas.

Sam Pittman and his staff have focused more on the defensive side of the ball to close out the 2021 class. Meanwhile, the Arkansas coaching staff was able to secure the commitment of Keuan Parker in May. Parker is a part of a pipeline that the Razorbacks have built in Tulsa and over the next few years fans can expect Arkansas to continue to recruit players out of Booker T. Washington, Tulsa Union, and Jenks.

Parker will bring to the Razorbacks a cornerback that has aggressive tendencies. The Booker T. Washington cornerback has shown impressive speed and he will rarely get beat deep by opposing wide receivers. Parker can cover the slot or outside wide receivers and that versatility will serve him well in the SEC. However, Parker will get pick up flags because of how aggressive that he can be with wide receivers. Picking up a penalty flag to stop a big play is not the end of the world but it can be costly if committed at the wrong time.

Arkansas fans should look for the Arkansas coaching staff to continue plugging holes on the defensive side of the ball. Look for the Razorbacks to continue to recruit the defensive line aggressively. The chance to earn some playing time on the defensive side of the ball is going to appeal to many recruits. Signing day is a little over a month away and look for the Razorbacks to close strong.
