Eric Gregory, Freshman DL

Eric Gregory made some huge plays in this game. Some of the stats may not show up in the box score but the eye test will tell you he made as big of an impact as anyone on the defense.

Gregory’s pass rush was great all night. He didn’t get to the quarterback, but he did force a couple of scrambles out of the pocket by beating his man.

Not to mention his rushing defense. Eric Gregory held down the middle anytime Tennessee decided to run with Eric Gray. He finished with five tackles, where most of them came on running plays.

All of those stats are cool and all, but there is one that will standout more than all the rest and Hog fans should know which play I am talking about.

Gregory made the game sealing interception in the fourth quarter with four minutes left. Tennessee was in scoring position on fourth down, and if caught could have potentially lead to a touchdown that would have cut the hog lead down to five.

Gregory has been playing great all year, but he is not a player fans hear about a lot. So I figured I would show him some love.
