The Arkansas Razorbacks continue to do an impressive job of recruiting neighboring states and it is evident with the recruitment of Solomon Wright.

One area of the Arkansas Razorbacks that will be continuously recruited is the defensive line. The defense was an area of the team that received plenty of criticism after two straight 2-10 seasons. Sam Pittman and his staff are placing a priority on recruiting defense to close out the 2021 recruiting class. Solomon Wright is the only defensive tackle that Arkansas currently has committed that is a 2021 prospect.  Arkansas would ideally like to add another one, however Solomon Wright is an impressive defensive tackle to bring to the fold.

Wright is what a large number of teams look for when recruiting for the defensive tackle position. Solomon has impressive quickness and uses it to his advantage to bring down the ball carrier. In 2019, Wright had 124 tackles, 14 sacks, and 51 tackles for loss for the Vian Wolverines. Wright’s dominant 2019 season helped lead the Wolverines to the 2-A Oklahoma State Championship game.

Wright will give the Hogs a quick defensive tackle who is a persistent tackler. Wright has the ability to get into the backfield and disrupt, both the run and the pass game. He will have to create more moves in his pass rushing set. Solomon will be facing SEC competition and will see a substantial step up in competition. Wright has the bloodlines to be a major force, being the son of former Oklahoma State player Kenyatta Wright.

Arkansas is not finished with the 2021 recruiting class. The Razorbacks have some scholarship spots left open to sign a few defensive players or to bring in some graduate transfers. Arkansas fans should look for Pittman and his staff to close out the recruiting class in a strong fashion. The football team is building momentum on and off the field and Arkansas fans could not be happier.
