Arkansas Razorbacks football recruiting is going to benefit from the Mississippi State victory.
Over the past three years, the Arkansas Razorbacks have suffered 20 straight conference defeats. The 20-loss monkey was removed from the backs of the Razorbacks last Saturday in Starkville. Arkansas defeating Mississippi State means a great deal to the current players, it is the future talent that the fanbase is concerned about. Keeping the momentum on the field as well as in the recruiting area is going to be a big concern for Sam Pittman and his staff.
The Arkansas Razorbacks have been facing the aspect of negative recruiting for a number of years. Arkansas has had to deal with coaches not staying long or just simply becoming very lazy on the recruiting trail. Fair or not, Sam Pittman and his staff have been hearing the remarks regarding a 20-game losing streak and how long it will be before the Razorbacks start winning on a consistent basis. Winning will cure quite a bit of what ails a program and that win over Mississippi State was like a dose of antibiotic.
However, Arkansas does have a top 25 recruiting class for the 2021 recruiting class, maintaining momentum is key. What Pittman and his staff have been able to do is impressive when you look at just how badly this Arkansas team played a season ago. With Arkansas having already secured the verbal commitments of several highly sought recruits. The recruiting momentum is picking up steam.
Many Arkansas fans are a bit cautiously optimistic when looking at this football team. The Arkansas fanbase is a group that has been snake bit a few too many times for people to go all in on this group. However, an impressive victory on the road makes fans sit back and take notice. Arkansas can not afford to return to old habits and earning some wins is a must. Especially after a great win over a nationally ranked opponent.
