Over the next few weeks, Arkansas Razorbacks football recruiting is going to be examined by evaluating the players that have placed verbal commitments.

The Arkansas offensive line has been a weakness over the past few seasons for the Razorbacks. Very rarely, were the pass blocking and run blocking on the same page in the same game. Hiring a head coach that has spent the majority of his career coaching the offensive line should rectify that situation. The first offensive tackle that we are going to evaluate, in what will be a weekly series is Cole Carson out of Bogata, TX.

Carson plays for Rivercrest High School and the first thing that really jumps out at you is how solid a run blocker Carson is. Carson’s quickness out of the snap and just his drive is impressive to watch. Carson is the 99th ranked player in the state of Texas according to 247Sports.com. The potential that Carson has is just beginning to be reached and he will likely make a strong impact on the Razorbacks.

The pass blocking is a facet of the game that Carson will improve upon. Carson is impressive from a run blocking perspective and the pass blocking will be a focus that the Arkansas Razorbacks will work with him on. Carson gives Arkansas some versatility and can play either tackle position.

Arkansas is continuing to rebuild, and the offensive line is a concern for Sam Pittman and his staff. A key point that Arkansas fans will take note of is that this recruiting class has dipped into Texas to recruit SEC caliber offensive linemen. Arkansas has done an impressive job into moving into the top 25 in the country in recruiting. In order for wins to accumulate in the fall, Arkansas must win on the recruiting trail. The 2021 class is big for Pittman and his staff and this class will be a good indicator of the type of players he is going to bring to Arkansas.
