After an impressive three-game sweep over Miami (Ohio) for opening weekend, the Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team prepare to welcome in the Bulldogs of Bryant University.

The Bulldogs face a good Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team with a 2-2 record after their four-game series with New Mexico State last weekend. Against NMSU the Bulldogs were outscored 34 to 29 which included a 20-7 beating from the Aggies in game four of the series.

The Bulldogs come into this weekend lead by junior pitcher James Karinchak who was named a preseason All-American coming into 2017. Karinchak made one appearance for the Bulldogs against NMSU going five innings giving up just 2 hits, 1 run, 1 walk allowed, and striking out 12 Aggies.

On the offensive side of things, Bryant comes into the weekend with a team batting average of .296 and an on-base percentage of .396 on the early season.  Nick Angelini and Ryan Ward both come into the weekend after having 19 total at bats against NMSU.

Angelini went 6 for 19 with 4 runs, 2 doubles, 2 home runs, and 4 runs batted in with an average of .316 against the Aggies. Ryan Ward put up very similar numbers with an average of .263 with 5 hits, 2 home runs, 6 runs batted in, and zero strikeouts.

This is a series I think the Hogs can sweep but as we have seen so far this season, you can’t overlook anyone in college baseball. The sport probably has the most parity out of all the three big NCAA sports. If the Hogs can carry the pitching over from opening weekend to give the bats an opportunity, I think fans will be bringing out the brooms again this Sunday!! The action gets started today at 3 p.m. and continues Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
