The Arkansas Razorbacks basketball team gets a signature win on the road against South Carolina.

When discussing Arkansas Razorbacks basketball this season, one term kept creeping into the conversation. A signature win. Arkansas had some good wins but not one that really stood out in the terms of getting an NCAA Tournament bid.

That was all before they went on the road to take on the 21st ranked South Carolina Gamecocks. Arkansas has had a tough time as of late with losses to Missouri and Vanderbilt but came back and beat LSU at Baton Rouge before heading to South Carolina. So how big was this past win?

Well for starters the Hogs jumped from 48th in the RPI to 36th as of today. That should be a pretty good indication of just how big of a deal this was for the Razorbacks.

Joe Lunardi had them at a possible 12 seed and in the last four in before the win over the Gamecocks. Looking at his bracket today, he moved the Razorbacks to an 11 seed in the Mid-West against 6 seed Saint Mary’s. He also moved them from the last four in, to the last four byes.

As great of a win as this was, Arkansas is still, of course, a bubble team but that is to be expected. If they can keep this momentum going, however, and have some success in the SEC Tournament, then they could very well move off the bubble.

Arkansas will continue their uphill battle for a tournament bid on Saturday when they take on Ole Miss. For now, though, Arkansas looks to be getting things turned around, but they have a little ways to go if they hope to make the big dance.
