Predicting SEC Football 2016 – Week Ten

Here we go again with more weekly SEC Football pics. Honestly, I’m slipping, however, I am still strong when compared to the national pundits. 62 -14 (81.5%) is not where I want to be… Eh, who am I kidding? I’m still the best!

Let me show you the winners of Week Ten in SEC Football:

(4) Texas A&M @ Mississippi State – Hello, Mississippi State. Starkville welcomes in the Aggies after their loss to Alabama. [We will talk more about that later.] A&M now has something to prove now that their SEC West dreams seem to have diminished. Their only hope is to get into the BCS Playoff at season’s end. The Bulldogs want to keep Dan Mullen surprisingly low on the hot seat. A&M will accomplish their feat this weekend – Aggies by 24.

Vanderbilt @ (9) Auburn – Those of you that follow me know that Vandy has been my Achilles heel this season. A majority of my incorrect picks come courtesy of the Commodores. Two weeks ago may have temporarily turned me anti-Gus, however, that does not mean that I cannot pick him as a winner. Tigers walk by 31.

Georgia Southern @ Ole Miss – What has happened to the Rebels? A team that started the season in the national spotlight played two Top Five teams down to the wire. Enter Arkansas. Exit Ole Miss’s confidence. They must be more than elated and relaxed to have a non-conference opponent come into Oxford this weekend. The Eagles will feel the vengeance of Johnny Reb. Ole Miss by 28.

(11) Florida @ Arkansas: Upset Alert – SEC Nation is on campus for what may prove to be the best showdown in the SEC this weekend. Florida is playing very great ball right now. While the Gators do have a solid defense, I do not feel that their offense is prolific, however, which could be the difference in the game. Austin Allen is reportedly healthy, which of course is a major plus for the Razorbacks. If he can get Keon Hatcher, Drew Morgan, and Jeremy Sprinkle’s positions involved, it could spell trouble for James McElwain’s group. Let’s hope that it does. This pick may have a just a hint of a homer in it – HOGS by 11.

This HOGS fan is excited and optimistic about the remaining schedule for the Razorbacks:

Missouri at South Carolina – Mr. Editor, do I really have to break this game down? What’s that? No? Excellent. The Gamecocks win because they’re at home and because the Tiger are horrendous. South Carolina by 18.

Tennessee Tech @ Tennessee – Since Tennessee beat Florida in Knoxville on September 24th, the two teams have gone in completely directions. As in 180 degrees different. Florida has moved right outside of the Top Ten, meanwhile, Tennessee has suffered loss after loss, including last week at South Carolina. Like Ole Miss, the Gamecocks are relieved to welcome a non-conference opponent into their house. The Golden Eagles fall easily to the Vols by 31.

Georgia at Kentucky – The sky is falling. Be honest, at the beginning of the season, did anyone of you outside of the Bluegrass state see the scenario that we have upon us now? Kirby Smart was brought in to save the Bulldogs from the horrible coaching of Mark Richt [<– Total sarcasm], and Kentucky was… well, they were Kentucky. Fast forward to now and Kirby Smart is in a very hot seat while the Wildcats are in the hunt for the SEC East crown. Is it a coincidence that my Mother also just learned how to use ‘Twitter’? Kentucky by 12.

(1) Alabama at (13) LSU: Game of the Week – Triskaidekaphobiacs throughout Louisiana beware; your ranking may come back to haunt you. This may be our game of the week and within the nighttime slot of CBS, however, let’s examine just how good Alabama really is. Actually, let’s just summarize it this way: two weeks ago, the Texas A&M Aggies LOST to Alabama by 19. NINETEEN. Now, said Aggies are at their highest point in the rankings at #4. LSU may be playing inspired football under Coach Ed Orgeron, however, emotions can only get you so far, especially spread across an entire season. See if you can prove me wrong, Tigers. Crimson Tide by 20.
