Prediction: New England Patriots, Round 3, Pick 96

Now we finish out our departed running backs with who will be the earlier drafted Alex Collins. I know I’m disappointing a lot of you (including myself) with NE being his new home, but I’m forced to choose where I think these guys will go, not necessarily where I want them to go.

What got Collins to this point in his career is never slowing down since his arrival in Fayetteville. He gave three valuable seasons in a Razorback uniform, each one better than the last. Collins become just the third SEC running back of all time to have three straight 1,000-yards-plus seasons. That feat could have single-handedly pushed him up the draft board.

After having what was a sub-par NFL combine performance, nobody genuinely cared. Because the talents that Collins possesses can’t be performed in the combine. He’s a downhill runner with great vision and ability to cut up the field. Those are attributes that can’t be measured, and NFL scouts took consideration into that.

New England should be foaming at the mouth for a guy like Collins. They pride on having a large committee of running backs that can play smart and truck downfield. With injuries and lack of quarterback protection plaguing the Patriots, Collins could be a good help.
