Prediction: Chicago Bears, Round 4, Pick 127

Fourth round seems a little late, huh? I sure think so. When I saw that the first two picks in the draft were most likely going to be quarterbacks, I thought to myself, “Well what do these guys have on Brandon Allen?”

I still stand by my inner speculation. Following the NFL Combine and other scouting reports, Cal’s Jared Goff and North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz are the two guys that set themselves apart from the rest in the draft. In my opinion, they don’t look that much greater than the rest of the quarterbacks in the draft mix, but whatever. I’m no scout by any means. They are seeing things that I am not.

As the projections state it, former Arkansas QB Brandon Allen is looking like a middle round pick. With an arm that gets better day-by-day, Allen is a great pick for any team looking to fill a quarterback hole. He finished 2015 with the best Total QB Rating in all of college football (87.9). This along with 50 touchdowns on just 13 interceptions in the last two years has given Allen the title of an elite collegiate quarterback (but no All-SEC team, for some odd reason).

The Chicago Bears have been longing for a quality backup to Jay Cutler. If drafted, BA would need to surpass the current No. 2 guy David Fales. His personal connection with Bears Offensive Coordinator Dowell Loggains might just give him that chance.
