Deatrich Wise

Wise is a man looking to bring the Arkansas defense to a new level.
Throughout the 2015 season, Deatrich Wise and the Arkansas defense were being manhandled by the other SEC squads. It was a mix youth, inexperience, and injury that forced us into sticky situations, and losses.
Wise was one of the few guys to step up last season. Between the LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Missouri matchups he recorded close to seven sacks. Those feats put him in sixth place for sacks in all the SEC. But his progress hasn’t stopped with last season. No, the entire offseason has been a world for Deatrich Wise to set himself apart from the rest of the D-Line.
Clint Stoerner: Deatrich Wise had eight sacks & all of them came in SEC play. That’s coming up big in big games. Need that leadership on D.

In fact, Bret Bielema has had to pull him out of scrimmages lately because he is too disruptive. I know what y0u’re thinking, but it’s not the offensive line’s fault. Wise has been put on senior OL Dan Skipper. Deatrich has killed the experience vs experience matchup to a point where they need to pull him out. Guys, Wise is literally so good right now that he’s not fun to play with.
Bolin: Deatrich Wise and Toby Baker are the two guys you look at and say they have a chance of earning All-SEC.

Bielema, on Deatrich Wise: I had to take him out today. He's so disruptive, I wanted to get some type of rhythm going (on offense).
