Grade: B+

It’s time to end this slideshow on a high note.

Brandon Allen, like Alex Collins, went into this combine with something to prove. He already got snubbed from the All-SEC squad for the 2015 season (which was utter bull). So finishing the season out strong and getting drafted high would prove his critics wrong.

In a way, he did just that. Because Allen did something that no other Arkansas player did in the entire combine. He finished a testing in the upper half.

BA finished sixth overall out of 15 quarterbacks in the three-cone drill, recording a time of 7.06 seconds. However, this was really the only timing that he did great in. But he’s a quarterback, so should we care? Probably not.

Another aspect of BA’s game that critics loved to focus on was his hand size. Originally at 8 1/8″, Brandon’s hands were considered too small for the NFL. I know what you’re thinking, well he can’t help what his hand size is.

WELL YOU ARE WRONG.

Because with massaging, Brandon Allen increased the size of his hands. What once was 8 1/8″ suddenly turned into 8 7/8″. This baffled a ton of people, and made people wonder if there was another part of his body that he increased with massaging.

The main focus for quarterbacks at the combine are the passing drills, which was where Brandon was the most impressive. He was seemingly able to stay right with the competition with the zip and accuracy of his throws. With overhyped competition like North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz, Cal’s Jared Goff and Memphis’ Paxton Lynch, none of the focus was really on Allen at all. But his performance really showed that he was able to stick with the “more elite” quarterbacks.

Brandon Allen gets the highest grade of the day because he did what he was expected, if not a little bit more. In his last couple of years at Arkansas he was fun to watch and improved with every throw. Now he’s getting ready to be on the big stage, and I hope the absolute best for him.

I also wish the absolute best to all of the combine participants from the University of Arkansas. I’m sorry I was so harsh on everyone, but I’m not sorry.

Woo Pig.
