Hunter Henry

Grade: C+
Hunter Henry is not participating in any testing events at the NFL Combine...other than the bench which was yesterday.

This tweet initiated the trust issues that I now have with Hunter Henry.
John Mackey Award winner Henry was is easily the most looked at Tight End in the draft. Many Arkansas fans and NFL experts alike can see him going in the first round. That being said, performing well at the combine would only boost that thought. But the fact that Henry didn’t do the measurable events at the combine just doesn’t make sense to me. Even the commentators at the combine were really confused when they heard that Ol’ reliable wasn’t doing any of the events. If in April he still gets drafted in the first round, I guess I won’t be upset about it. But until that happens, I’m going to stay upset. In fact, I’m not even going to talk about it anymore. I’ll let the GIF take it away.

The only measurable event Henry was included in was the bench press. Henry recorded 13 reps, which was good for 11th among tight ends. Not too bad, right? WRONG. Because there were twelve tight ends. That’s right, Hunter Henry, the best tight end in the draft, finished next to last in a bench press! Are you starting to see a trend in this slideshow?
Okay, I will get off Hunter’s back for now. Because he did actually do some great things in the combine when he finally wanted to. Henry participated in the passing drills later in the combine, where he was able to show off his receiving and blocking ability. Since he has quite a bit of both of those things, he looked good. Just like the entire 2015 season, Hunter did not drop a pass. So props to him.
A C+ was given to Henry solely based on his absence from the majority of the combine. Had he competed in everything, a higher grade would have been given. But from what we saw from him on the field, it was good enough to give him an average grade.
However, if he would have caught one his passes in the drills and heaved it 20 yards I would have given him an A+.
What did you think of Hunter Henry's combine performance?
