Dusty Hannahs Trash Talk to Ben Simmons is Trending
The Arkansas Razorbacks defeated the LSU Tigers 85-65 on Tuesday night, but it was Dusty Hannahs’ trash talking to Ben Simmons that stole the show.
Arkansas was able to pull of an impressive 20 point victory over the LSU Tigers, evening the season series between the teams. The win evened out the Hogs’ overall record at 14-14 and a conference record of 7-8.
But the only memorable moment of the victory over LSU seemed to be Arkansas guard Dusty Hannahs opening his mouth to the “greatest” player in college basketball.
The LSU star and SEC Network praised Ben Simmons was fouled with 14:21 left in the ballgame. Arkansas had a 51-40 lead, so a bit of confidence was fitting to show up.
Dusty Hannahs made this game, and that’s not just because watching the 6’4 guy talk trash to a 6’10 is hilarious (even though it totally is). It’s because Ben Simmons MISSED. Once people saw this moment, they went crazy. Immediately the vine and ESPN rolled with it. And to add insult to injury, Simmons eventually fouled out of the game on a technical foul. That was the dagger for the Tigers.
So did Dusty cause that miss? I guess we’ll never know. I know we would all love to think that our designated pretty face forced Ben Simmons into a miss. But with Simmons shooting just 69% from the free throw line, it’s not too far fetched that he missed a free throw.
I mean, the last time we played Simmons he did do this…
There is still one question that is bugging everyone about this quick talking of trash.
What did Dusty say to him?
He definitely didn’t lead us to an easy lip reading, so that will remain a mystery. But we’re left wondering what in the dang flabbit was said to the future #1 draft pick! Maybe it was a clever and intricately planned yo momma joke. Or maybe Dusty was trying to get Ben to invest in his startup hair product company. Then again, he could have simply been asking Simmons how he’s Australian (it’s a legit question).

Whatever words were said, the ending was the important thing. Dusty Hannahs finished out the ballgame with 17 points going 7-12 from the field. Ben Simmons finished (on the bench) with a team high 23 points and 12 rebounds.
Arkansas’ next matchup will be at Tennessee on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
