As I said in my weekly roundup post, the Arkansas Razorbacks track team showed out over the weekend. The Hogs jumped from #8 to #1, with the SEC Indoor Championships scheduled for next week.
Once again, the Arkansas Track & Field team is the top ranked program in the nation. The University of Arkansas has consistently been one of, if not the, most dominant track programs in the nation. So it should come as no surprise that the Hogs have gotten back to the top of the rankings at the right time.
Following an incredible team performance in last weekend’s Tyson Invitational, the Hogs have athletes ranked in the top 10 nationally in 10 different events. Basically, if you look at the individual leader boards for track and field events across the board, you’re practically guaranteed to see a Hog on that list.
Clive Pullen ranks fourth nationally in the triple jump, and the Razorbacks 4×400 relay team ranks 4th as well. Long jumper Jarrion Lawson is tied for the national lead after a jump of 26 feet, 9.75 inches at the even this past weekend.
Four of the top five teams in the nation are from the SEC, as the Hogs are joined by Tennessee, Texas A&M, and LSU. All eyes will be on the SEC next weekend, as the top schools will be battling it out for a conference title and a shot at the National Championship.

Arkansas last won the National Title in 2013, and is looking to get back to the mountain top. They’ll have to get through their own conference first, before then having to contend with other powerhouse programs like Texas, Oregon, and USC. But if history proves to be correct, then a #1 ranked Arkansas track team is going to be hard to beat.
