National Signing Day came and went for college football on Wednesday. The Arkansas Razorbacks landed many great players, earning them as high as 23rd best in the country.

Well National Signing Day came and went. Our Arkansas Razorbacks were able to put together a great group of guys to add on the roster.

We can start off by naming the two guys who are already enrolled at the University of Arkansas: McTelvin Agim and Terrance Malone. The 6-4, 320 lb Terrance Malone came out of Northwest Mississippi Community College, and was seventh ranked offensive guard in the country. Then there’s McTelvin Agim, the highest ranked prospect that Arkansas was able to sign. Agim was also one of the few in-state players to be signed with the Hogs. Shortly after Malone, 6-1 Safety Deon Edwards, out of Florida’s Lake Minnesola High School, joined the team.

The biggest signee of the day came next. At around 7:15 this morning, star running back Devwah Whaley was officially a Hog. Whaley made news when he decommitted from the Georgia Bulldogs and decided to become a Razorback (a wise decision in my opinion). Devwah is listed as the third ranked running back in the country by 247Sports.

Linebacker Dee Walker followed Whaley. Walker comes out of Moultrie, Georgia and is listed at 6-2, 210 lbs. He also was the high school teammate of current Hog T.J. Smith. Defensive Tackle Briston Guidry was who followed. The 6-2, 287 lb. goliath turned down offers from numerous SEC schools, and was ranked as the 20th best player in the state Louisiana. Guidry even won the Dopest Cake Award at his signing.

Other than the players listed, many other great prospects were signed by Arkansas. That including 6-6 300 lb Tackle Paul Ramirez, who is coming all the way from San Bernardino, California. Ramirez will be a fantastic add to the largest offensive line in the world. Joe T. Robinson’s Wide Receiver T.J. Hammonds will add to the offense as well, as he also signed today.

The rest of the day was filled with lots of other signees that will give Arkansas a lot of hope going into the 2016 season. However, there were some hits-and-misses from National Signing Day. There were three prospects that would have catapulted the Hogs’ recruiting rank a ton had they dropped the mic. But sadly wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland, and cornerbacks Kristian Fulton/Joseph Putu all went another way. Putu was verbally committed to Arkansas, but chose to sign with the Florida Gators along with Tyrie Cleveland. Fulton signed with LSU.

Sadly Florida was the demise of our big recruits, and Bret Bielema knew it.

There is no such thing as a non-controversial side of Bret. We all know how his mouth is, and we’ve accepted it. That is why it was no surprise to hear that he totally shaded Florida for their surprise recruiting extravaganza. The tweet below says it all.

Oh Bert…..we love you, but geez….

Our beloved head coach referred to Florida as being the “new Ole Miss” when it came to recruiting. For those who don’t know, Ole Miss is currently being investigated by the NCAA for multiple recruiting violations by the Rebels. Of course, Bret loves to cover his tracks and keep us guessing on what’s going on in that head of his. Reports are saying that Bielema called Ole Miss Head Coach Hugh Freeze to clear things up, saying that his words were meant to compliment the Rebels.

He’s not crazy, guys, he’s just misunderstood.

All in all, it was a great National Signing Day for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Although there were a few prospects that we let slip away, that didn’t take away from a very successful group of young men that are being brought into Fayetteville.
