Arkansas Razorbacks vs Mississippi State Bulldogs: Final Score, Stats, Highlights and More
The Arkansas Razorbacks defeated the Mississippi State Bulldogs 82-68 at Bud Walton arena. The Hogs recorded 16 threes, which was just one away from tying the SEC record for threes in a game. After coming off of an overtime thriller against the Vanderbilt Commodores, the Razorbacks are now on a 2 game SEC win streak and move up to 8-7 on the year. Their 2-1 SEC record moves the Hogs up to a three way tie for third place in the conference standings.
Man, that was such a fun game to watch. Arkansas is still on a rough journey to gain respect and win ballgames. Today they did both. The Razorbacks were red hot for most of this game and put on a clinic of three pointers that ultimately won them the game. As mentioned above, their 16 threes were almost enough to tie for the SEC record. Two players, Dusty Hannahs and Anthlon Bell, combined for 51 of Arkansas’ 82 points. It was easily one of the most impressive games from the Splash-Zone duo.
We can’t say that there wasn’t a struggle, however. The Razorbacks had the lead all but the first minute of the game, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the game didn’t get tight at some points. The Hogs lost the turnover battle to the Bulldogs, giving up the ball 16 times. This stat along with the foul trouble that Arkansas got in led to Mississippi State getting too close for comfort on the scoreboard. Of all people, Kingsley was held down for the majority of the game. All but six of his points came off of free throws, and he had two dunks get blocked. That being said, he was still dominant on defense, recording four blocks and eight rebounds.
This 14 point win can be thanked to a late game run put together by Dusty Hannahs and Anthlon Bell. The Arkansas Razorbacks put together a 12-0 run in just a two minute span towards the end of the second half, putting the nail in the coffin for the Bulldogs.
Players of the Game
#SplashZone
- Dusty Hannahs– Hannahs was absolutely on fire. He made an SEC matchup look like shootaround, as he recorded a career high 26 points and made a total of 9 shots. In fact, 8 of those 9 shots were three pointers. If you don’t realize how crazy that is, wake up because it’s really crazy. Hannahs was coming off of an extremely poor performance against Vanderbilt where Dusty went just 2 for 11 from the court. This was quite a step up for the youngster.
- Anthlon Bell– Coming just behind Hannahs in total points made was Anthlon Bell. Bell recorded 25 points which included 5 three pointers. In the moments where Arkansas was on the hot streak, it has been Bell that led the charge. With 5 rebounds added to the stat sheet, Anthlon Bell’s reputation as an explosive Razorback has only increased in the past few games.

The Hogs did not fare well in their last away game, as they were defeated 92-69 by the Texas A&M Aggies.
