The Arkansas Razorbacks defeated the Kansas State Wildcats 45-23 in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl, thanks to an amazing performance by the offensive line and Alex Collins.

The Arkansas Razorbacks got a big win in the Liberty Bowl against the Kansas State Wildcats tonight. The game started slow for the Hogs, when Brandon Allen threw an interception on the first series of the game. The Wildcats converted the turnover into points, and took a 7-0 lead. That was the last time the Wildcats would lead, as Arkansas got the ship steadied and leaned on their running game all night for massive yards and points.

If this was indeed Alex Collins’ last night as a Razorback, then this was his swan song. He tied Darren McFadden’s single season 100+ yard game total with his 10th, he had 185 yards on the ground and 3 scores. Brandon Allen was efficient as well, throwing for 315 yards and a score.

Obviously, the night is not as happy as it should be, as we still don’t have any real update on Dominique Reed. The Camden native went down with a neck injury, and was carted off the field. We’ll try and relay any information to you as it comes along.

 Players of the Game:

  • Alex Collins – 23 carries, 185 yards, 3 touchdowns. Added 74 yards returning kicks as well. Collins will probably be going pro after this game, and he leaves Arkansas as it’s 2nd best running back statistically, behind only Darren McFadden. A fantastic performance by this Hogs legend.
  • Brandon Allen – 20/26, 315 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 interception. After throwing a pick on his third pass, Allen only threw 4 more incompletions. He helped the hogs convert 60% of their third down possessions, and lead this team all season long. He finishes as the school leader in TD throws, and will go down as one of the best QB’s to play in Cardinal & White.
  • Hunter Henry & Jeremy Sprinkle – TIGHT END U! Henry and Sprinkle combined for 173 receiving yards and 1 score. Henry caught the 43 yard 3rd down bomb that set up the late score, and Sprinkle had the touchdown catch that answered the call after the Wildcats pulled to within 8. An amazing performance by the best tight end duo in the nation.

"Arkansas’ ground game has been on point in the first half. #LibertyBowl https://t.co/9iI4G6Itns— SportsCenter (@SportsCenter) January 2, 2016"

"Or throw it to Henry. He hasn’t dropped a pass this season… https://t.co/kGExEF8HnP— Belle Es You (@SouthernbeLLSU) January 2, 2016"

The Razorbacks finish the season 8-5, winning 7 of their last 9 games after starting 1-3. What a crazy season. The hype train is set to take off from the station for Arkansas and Tennessee next year. ALL ABOARD! Now we turn to basketball..which is…uh…less fun, currently. But we’re going to watch it anyway!

Woo Pig!
