#1: The Henry Heave

Now let’s look at the play that made it all happen.

There would be no win, no two point conversion without this play. It’s a play that will go down as one of the weirdest and most miraculous moments in Arkansas history. It showed that a little self awareness along with a lot of luck has the potential to make something big happen.

Ladies and gentlemen….

The Henry Heave.

First of all, there is no reason to call it anything but the Henry Heave. That’s the name it was given so stop trying to come up with your own. Because most of your names are stupid and you should burn them in the furnace. Now back to the article at hand.

Just like the win wouldn’t be here without the Henry Heave, the Henry Heave wouldn’t be here without Hunter Henry. The entire play begins with our Hogs on 4th and 25 in the first overtime. Brandon Allen throws it to the 25 yard line, which was still 10 yards short of the first down marker. Henry used every bit of self awareness he had and lateraled the ball backwards to the original line of scrimmage while being wrapped up by an Ole Miss defender. The ball gets tipped in the air by OL Dan “Pound Cake” Skipper and takes a very very lucky bounce to the perfect guy, Alex Collins. Collins takes it downfield and gets marked down at about the 10 yard line, keeping the game alive.

There wasn’t a sound coming from the crowd, even those terrible announcers weren’t making a peep. It was utter disbelief, and the best way to cap off the top 10 plays of the Arkansas 2015 season. The Henry Heave led to the Drew Morgan touchdown pass, which led to Brandon Allen sailing into the endzone to win us the game. Hunter Henry can do no wrong, folks.
