Razorbacks Recruiting Quick Update: Football and Basketball

The Arkansas Razorbacks football and basketball teams both received some good news this weekend.

The best news came for Razorbacks basketball head coach Mike Anderson. The basketball team picked up it’s 3rd verbal commitment for the 2016 class in Adrio Bailey. The 6’7, 210 pound small forward from Campti, Louisiana chose the Hogs over schools such as Oklahoma State, Charlotte, and Wichita.

Bailey joins Jaylen Barford and Daryl Macon as the third commit in the 2016 class. Barford and Macon are both junior college standouts, and will be relied upon to contribute immediately when they arrive. Bailey will be coming to Fayetteville fresh out of high school. We’ll have more of an idea of how much Bailey will be expected to contribute on national signing day, when we get a final look at the incoming 2016 players for the Razorbacks.

The Hogs football squad hasn’t received a commitment this week, but they’re in the running for a big time playmaker, and will be hosting 2 other major recruits in the upcoming weeks.

4 star receiver Isaiah Graham informed Razorbacks head coach Bret Bielema that he will be making his decision on October 30th, and that he has narrowed his list of schools down to 2: Arkansas and TCU. Graham would be a huge get for Coach Bielema and the Hogs. The 6’1, 180 pound playmaker from Bastrop, Louisiana is holding offers from schools like LSU, Cal, Miami, and Tennessee. He would be a major get for the Hogs.

2 other recruits have said they want to take an official visit to Arkansas. D’Vaughn Pennamon and Jordan Carmouche, both from Manvel, Texas, are planning to visit Fayetteville on October 31st for the UT-Martin game. Pennamon is a 3 star “all-purpose” back, but his offer list reads like a much higher rated player. He has 22 offers from schools like Texas A&M, Georgia, Florida, Southern Cal, and Ole Miss. In fact, Pennamon verbally committed to Ole Miss earlier in the season. It seems that he wants to go to whatever school his teammate goes, and Carmouche is not as high on Oxford as Pennamon.

Jordan Carmouche is a 3 star linebacker. The 6’1, 230 pound senior holds offers from 22 schools, and seems to be wanting to stay closer to home. Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma make up his top 3 according to 247. Carmouche will be in Fayetteville with Pennamon for the UT-Martin game, and it’s no secret that the Razorbacks need some linebackers. These two Texans would be huge gets for Coach Bielema.
