No, You Aren’t Crazy. The Neyland Stadium Clock Kept Ticking in the First Half (VIDEO)

facebooktwitterreddit

Whether it’s War Memorial or Neyland Stadium, the Hogs can’t seem to catch a break with clocks.

I didn’t really notice it, myself. But my twitter timeline certainly did. On the Arkansas Razorbacks’ final drive of the first half that resulted in a field goal, the game clock was apparently malfunctioning. I didn’t notice it at first, but I did catch a few seconds running off when Brandon Allen scrambled out of bounds to set up the field goal.

Thank God for the internet, or I would have never known how bad it really was for the Hogs on that final drive in the first half. How much time was ran off the clock after the whistle? 16 SECONDS! That’s enough time to run at least 2 if not 3 more plays! I can guarantee that the Razorbacks staff will be submitting this video (or maybe one that wasn’t filmed with a potato) to the SEC. I’m not going to accuse anyone of home cooking, but I am going to accuse whoever was running the clock at Neyland of incompetency. I mean, holy cow, 16 seconds. That’s a lifetime in football! Or in Alabama’s case, it’s 16 lifetimes!

Watch the video below and see how many seconds you think the Hogs were malfunctioned out of on this drive. I got to 16, which is impressive for me. I’m a journalist, not a math whiz.

Not to throw fuel on the fire or anything, but in case you didn’t notice who was part of the officiating crew for this game, it was Marc Curles. You know…this guy.

Not to…you know…start a conspiracy rumor or anything.
