2013 College Football Recruiting: Razorbacks Gain Verbal Commitment

facebooktwitterreddit

Fayetteville, Ark. – Arkansas recruiting coordinator Tim Horton and the Razorback coaching staff have shown a trend of reaching for possible recruiting diamonds in the rough for their upcoming 2013 recruiting class. On Friday the Hogs added another under the radar pledge to their list when Lamar Jordan verbally committed to Arkansas.

Lamar Jordan, 5’11”, 181 pounds, has the rare speed and play making abilities college coaches covet especially those in the SEC. Jordan is a dual-threat quarterback for Centennial High School in Frisco, TX. His size and speed, 4.4 forty-yard dash, could make him a cornerback, wide receiver, or scat back on the college level.

As a junior Jordan rushed for 944 yards on 140 attempts in 13 games finding the end zone 11 times. When dropping back to pass he completed 56 percent of his attempts for 2,455 passing yards with 24 touchdowns.

Jordan’s running skills from the quarterback position has made him a key recruit for option based college offenses having received offers from Air Force and Navy among others including Rice, New Mexico, and Texas State.

Jordan’s verbal commitment to the Hogs makes him the third possible wide receiver recruit that will sign with Arkansas come national signing day and the 16th overall commitment to the Razorbacks 2013 recruiting class.
