2012 College Football: SEC Week Two Injury Updates
By Ryan Wright
Jan 7, 2011; Arlington, TX, USA; LSU Tigers tackle Chris Faulk (76) in action against the Texas A
The SEC dips into conference action in week two of the 2012 college football season after only one game was on the docket last week, South Carolina 17 over Vanderbilt 13.
A couple of notable injuries occurred over the week when LSU lost starting tackle Chris Faulk (knee) for the season and Arkansas lost starting fullback Kiero Small (foot).
Both SEC newcomers, Texas A&M and Missouri host SEC stalwarts Florida and Georgia respectively. Much has been made by each schools fan base as to the ease of sliding into the SEC. Now the time to talk is over and the time to play has come.
When Missouri and Georgia square off on Saturday the war of attrition will have begun. Both teams will be minus key players expected to contribute throughout the season.
The SEC represented well in non-conference action last week as the highlights and media attention went to then No. 2 Alabama’s win over then No. 8 Michigan 41-14.
Auburn ran into an offensive buzz saw against then No. 14 Clemson, losing 26-19. The rest of the SEC teams held the fort with Tennessee getting a quality win over N.C. State 35-21.
