Dave Van Horn and the Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team look to be carrying momentum over from their 6th ranked recruiting class last year into 2017.

Arkansas Razorbacks baseball is currently ranked 7th in the country right now by Perfect Game USA. There are 22 High School commits for 2017 at this point. But, what really makes me feel good about this class is the fact that only one recruit is ranked in Perfect Game’s top 100 and it’s still a top 10 class.

You look around at the other schools in the top 10 like Florida, Vandy, Miami, LSU, TCU, and UCLA, they have 4-8 recruits listed in Perfect Game’s top 100.

So how exactly can the Hogs be ranked so highly with just one?

I think it has a lot to do with this coaching staff and the respect they carry nationally to develop talent and win ball games. Dave Van Horn is one of the top college baseball coaches in America in my unbiased opinion, well it’s honestly just a fact!

Also looking ahead just a little bit here, the Hogs are currently ranked 12th in the 2018 recruiting rankings and 11th for 2019 according to Perfect Game USA.

Now a lot of these numbers and rankings will change over time just a little but, it’s very obvious that Dave Van Horn and the Razorbacks are going after some heavy talent in this next three classes.

If the Hogs can escape each class with only losing no more than 4-6 kids to the MLB Draft, then I think we will see a very bright future for the Diamond Hogs moving forward.

The Hogs didn’t even make Perfect Game’s top 25 for the 2015 recruiting class and we saw a little bit of a struggle in 2016 on the field due to that in my opinion.

But, like people always say “never count out Dave Van Horn” when it comes to getting the train back on track. Well, it looks like the train is about to start rolling again for the Diamond Hogs.
