The Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team gets their season off on the right foot with a 7-0 win over Miami (Ohio).

In their season opener, the Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team started with a three-game series against Miami (Ohio). Game one is now in the books with a big Arkansas 7-0 win.

The Hogs literally came out swinging early and scored 6 of their 7 runs in the bottom of the first inning. Their 7th came off a home run by Fletcher in the bottom of the seventh. Not only was it the first home run of the season for Arkansas but was the first for his career.

Arkansas had three players bat at a .500 average in their opener. Cole, Bonfield, and Fletcher all had a solid day at bat. Shaddy averaged .333 and Spanberger hitting a .250 average.

Last season, was a nightmare for the Razorbacks when it came to pitching but that looks to have changed. Knight started the day and pitched the first four innings, with Reindl coming in from the fifth to the seventh. Chadwick closed it out and the Hogs kept Miami scoreless.

Overall, Arkansas looked great. Batting was extremely solid and the pitching looked like it has taken a complete 180 degrees from last year. I know it’s early but I am pretty hyped about this team after watching them play today.

Arkansas will begin game two of the three-game series on Saturday at Noon at Baum Stadium. If you can’t make it to the game, you can catch it on the SEC Network Alternate or stream it on WatchESPN. Woo pig!
