The Arkansas Razorbacks defeated the #5 Texas A&M Aggies 74-71, pulling off what was easily the most impressive win of the entire 2016 season.

Oh my dear lord what a game that was. I am still trying to control my emotions. This Arkansas Basketball team has put me through a lot of crap this year but tonight made it all worth it.

The Hogs pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the season tonight, defeating the fifth ranked Texas A&M Aggies 74-71 in a game that went down to the very last millisecond. This was the talented Aggies’ first SEC loss of the season, and I was sure glad we could give it to them.

The Hogs put together an impressive stat line tonight, defeating the Aggies in important categories. Although they lost the rebound battle by a significant amount, the Hogs surpassed A&M in assists, blocks, and of course three pointers. Arkansas also was able to force 21 turnovers from the Aggies. I don’t care how close the game was, any team that can do that against the fifth ranked team in the country is amazing.

Beating A&M was the most impressive thing that we could do at this point in the season. After falling below .500 for the year, we were in desperate need to pull off a win to get momentum back on our side. Well guess what? Our three game losing streak is over.

Players of the Game

Moses Kingsley-

Moses was our rock yet again. He led the team in scoring with 18 points. Kingsley was able to get his tenth double-double on the year with his 11 rebounds. Keep it up, big man.

  • Dusty Hannahs- As usual, Hannahs was the most fun player to watch on the court. After a disappointing Georgia loss, Dusty was making it out to redeem himself. And he did. He nailed three shots from behind the arc and nailed the clutch free throws at the end to extend Arkansas’ lead to three. Hannahs ended with 17 points.
  • Anthlon Bell- It’s so difficult to have a players of the game section without including #SplashZone. Bell and Hannahs are the key to our offense, as they continue to show their importance every single matchup. Bell tonight tied with Hannahs for 17 points, including three 3 point shots.

More razorbacks: Zach Jackson Named Preseason All-American

I still will not be able to get over this win tonight. I will give all the credit I can to the Razorbacks, they are so much fun to watch.

Bud Walton Arena was on fire tonight, and that gave our boys a lot of momentum in the long run. Our fans have a huge impact on our game, and it takes a special fan base to do that.

The Hogs next matchup will be on Saturday at 3:00 when we take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

In the meantime, bask in the glory of our victory.

    And go Razorblacks.
