The Arkansas Razorbacks face off against the LSU Tigers on Saturday. Arkansas is on a three game win streak, and the Hogs are looking to gain more respect with a win in Baton Rouge.

This Saturday, Arkansas Basketball is BACK. Are you excited yet? If you said no, go to your room and think about what you’ve done with your life you imbecile. But if you are like me and totally pumped, then let’s get going.

The Arkansas Razorbacks are smoking as of late. They could easily be compared to the state of Michael Qualls: speedy, having tons of fun, and full of substance.

Coming off of a three game SEC win streak, the Hogs are looking to keep their spark alive. Arkansas most recently traveled to Columbia to face off against the Missouri Tigers, and demoralized them in a 94-61 blowout. Our offense is clicking on all cylinders, and we are continuing to be the best three point shooting team in all of the SEC, maybe even one of the best in the country. Arkansas comes into Baton Rouge with 9-7 overall record and impressive 3-1 SEC record.

The LSU Tigers will be a challenge for our young Hogs. While the Tigers have six losses to their name, that doesn’t take away from the talent that is on the court. As every college basketball fan knows, there is one true star that could be the make or break player in the game. BIG BAD BEN SIMMONS. Simmons and the LSU squad have put together some impressive victories. The Tigers defeated the revered Kentucky Wildcats 85-67 less than two weeks ago, and a nine point victory over the Ole Miss Rebels on Thursday. LSU comes into Saturday with a 10-6 overall record and sit in a tie for third place with Arkansas in the SEC standings.

Keys to Victory

Make the Three

The Razorbacks have become the elite three point shooting team in the SEC over the course of the season. If LSU and their crowd can shut us down from behind the line, then it will be a tough game for the Razorbacks. Anthlon Bell and Dusty Hannahs, aka Splash Zone, are the leaders of the team when it comes to the three point variety. As we’ve seen in the past few games, these guys are hot when the Hogs get on runs. Let’s hope they can keep up the good work tomorrow.

  • Shut Big Ben Simmons Down In the history of keys to victory, this might be the most important one ever. The Hogs are facing the absolute best player in the country tomorrow night. This was a guy that was the number one prospect coming out of high school. Now just a year later he’s the number one NBA draft prospect. The kid is a freak, and his stats show it. He’s averaging 20.3 points per game and 12.9 rebounds. At 6-10 225 pounds, this kid is not to be messed with. Shutting him down will be extremely tough.
  • Keep Kingsley In the Mix Moses Kingsley has quickly become a star. In a career at Arkansas, not many people have transformed the way Kingsley has. Moses leads the team in points per game (17.3), rebounds (9.5), and field goal percentage (.567). While we are coming up to be a talented three point shooting team, we need to have that balance. We’ve had games this year where Kingsley hasn’t been getting the shots he needs and we fail because of it. With talented LSU defense led by Simmons, keeping Kingsley in the mix might be rough going.
  • More razorbacks: Can Diamond Hogs Return to Omaha?

Arkansas tips off against the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge, LA at 7:30 p.m. CT on the SEC Network. Be sure to stay tuned here on Razorbackers for post-game content! The Hogs are looking for a fourth straight win tomorrow night. By far, this will be their toughest SEC opponent yet. However, I believe in my heart that either way the W falls, the Razorbacks will find a way to keep this game exciting. Because let’s face it, we have a fun group of guys playing basketball for us. Now let’s go get that win.

    Woo Pig.
