PGA Championship and British Open winner John Daly has unveiled his newest venture: A line John Daly themed Steakhouses. Daly, who grew up in Dardanelle, Arkansas and attended the University of Arkansas, has become one of the most recognizable pro golfers in the world thanks to his long drives, unique personality, and hard partying ways.

The former Hog will be opening his first location in Conway, at 912 Front Street, as part of Conway’s building’s revival. According to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, the restaurant will display a rotating assortment of memorabilia, and Daly himself will make 5 scheduled appearances in the establishment after it is opened.

The plan, according to project CEO Sam McFadin, is to roll out 10 locations in the next 5 years, with the next location at Dickson Street in Fayetteville. The restaurant is scheduled to open later this year.

Daly is no stranger to publicity, whether it was wanted or not. He’s been in the media off and on again over the years for a plethora of reasons, some good and some bad. Whether it’s his battles with alcohol and weight, or his reality TV show, his gambling problems, or his massive charitable givings…John is certainly one of a kind.

More razorbacks: 2015 Recap

It has been announced as well that Daly’s signature drink will definitely be on the menu. What is his signature drink? It’s “lemon sweet tea with a kick.” Basically it’s an Arnold Palmer with booze in it. Because John Daly is a great American.

No word yet on the menu, however. Obviously, they’ll be steak and potatoes on the list, but I’m hoping that we get some interesting food/drink pairings that encompass was Daly is all about. What goes well with beer battered potato mac and cheese balls? A Marlboro light, of course. What should I drink with my 1/3rd pound Black Angus bourbon glazed bacon cheeseburger?

Might I recommend the “captain and coke”? It’s a house specialty drink. Now Grip It and Rip It!
