Top 5 Heartbreaking Losses for Arkansas Football

Saturday was tough, not only for our Arkansas players, but for our fans. The Hogs fell short against the Mississippi State Bulldogs 51-50, after Cole Hedlund’s potential game winning 29 yard field goal was blocked.

Saturday was a game full of ups and downs for the Hogs. One second they were keeping up, the next they were losing by 2 scores. Then in the blink of an eye they were up again, and then next they lost it all. What a ride of emotions it was, if only it could have ended it on a better emotion than they did. But we can’t complain too much. Our Hogs have been on a wild winning streak that any team would be lucky to have. And we (our offense) fought hard this week, which included BA throwing for a career high 7 touchdowns, passing (no pun intended) Ryan Mallett for the most career TD passes.

Sure, this weekend was a heartbreaker to say in the least. But is it the worst we’ve ever had? In Arkansas’ history, there has been many games that haven’t ended up the way we wanted them too. Some games have been shockers or upsets, where we’ve been caught off guard by the underdog opponent. Or we’ve been simply outplayed to the point of heartbreak and anger. Either way, there’s been plenty of those times at Arkansas. I would argue more than our fair share.

We’ve cheered as Arkansas Razorbacks fans, but sometimes it’s okay to remember the times in which we have wanted to cry and stab the person responsible for an Arkansas loss repeatedly with a box cutter. I know it’s harsh, but it’s also true. (Editor’s Note: Should we schedule a meeting with a mental professional, Barrett?) So sit back and revamp those knots in your stomach. Here are the top 5 Arkansas Football Letdowns since 2000.

If you feel that my picks were just terrible and you want to yell at me for not picking a certain game, feel free to do so. Just try not to scream too loud at your screen.
