The annual Red-White scrimmage took place Wednesday evening in Bud Walton Arena and Michael Qualls was back at it again with a monstrous game winning dunk that sent the Red squad to a 99-98 victory.

This wasn’t the first time Mr. Walk on Air/Mr. SportsCenter Top Ten has finished a game with a dunk. Last season, Qualls had a similar put-back dunk that propelled Arkansas to an overtime victory against the Kentucky Wildcats. He’s also appeared on SportsCenter’s Top Ten on eight different occasions.

Qualls scored 19 of his 21 points in the second half of the Red squad’s comeback victory. Rashad Madden chipped in 17 points and 11 assists before he forced up a last second shot that ended in familiar fortune. It was also Madden who put up the shot against Kentucky that Qualls dunked home shortly after.

Bobby Portis started his sophomore campaign strong with 28 points and 14 rebounds for the White squad. Five players from each squad reached double figures in the contest.

Jacorey Williams surprised some fans by adding 17 points and 10 rebounds. Newcomer Jabril Durham scored 15 points in his debut while Alandise Harris chipped in 14. Transfer Dusty Hannahs, who will be sitting out this season due to transfer rules, added 12 points to round out the White squad’s double figure scorers.

The Red team had significant contribution from Moses Kingsley and freshman Anton Beard who both scored 18 points. Sharp shooter Anthlon Bell also added 15 points for the victors.

The Arkansas Razorbacks will hold one more scrimmage on Nov. 2nd in Vilonia, AR as part of the Tornado Relief Program. Then, the Hogs will take part in two exhibition match-ups against Central Oklahoma and Pittsburgh State before the November 16th season opener against Alabama State.
