Athens, GA – The Arkansas Razorbacks (29-15, 13-7) continued their tough pitching ways on Saturday earning a 2-1 win over the Georgia Bulldogs (16-28, 4-16) on the road.
The Hogs scrapped by for a 2-0 win on Friday night with Barrett Astin (3-2) and Colby Suggs combining for a six-hit shutout. In the series opening win Astin struck out eight in eight innings pitched scattering four hits.
The Hogs could only muster three hits on Friday against the Bulldogs with Brian Anderson collecting two, driving in one run, and Jake Wise supplying the other RBI hit for the Hogs.
Saturday was much of the same this time with Jake Wise and Joe Serrano providing the total run support in the eighth inning.
Ryne Stanek started the game for the Hogs throwing 7 1/3 innings, allowing one run, while striking out three batters. Jalen Beeks (5-1) picked up the win for Arkansas throwing one inning, striking out two.
The Bulldogs got a complete game from Sean McLaughlin (4-5). The Hogs were able to get five hits while striking out five times against McLaughlin.
The Hogs clinched their fifth SEC series win of the season in seven tries with the win on Saturday.
