Fayetteville, Ark. – The Razorback Razorbacks secured their fourth SEC series of the 2013 season against Texas A&M over the weekend but a surprising double header loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers helped dropped the Hogs in this week’s college baseball polls.
The Hogs dropped from No. 13 to No. 16 in the Collegiate Baseball Top 25 Poll, from No. 12 to No. 14 in the Baseball America poll, and from No. 12 to No. 15 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
Arkansas is one of seven SEC teams ranked in the Top 25 with No. 2 LSU, No. 4 Vanderbilt, No. 10 South Carolina, No. 12 Mississippi State, No. 16 Ole Miss, and No. 24 Kentucky, per the USA Today Coaches poll.
The Razorbacks have series wins against two teams ranked ahead of them sweeping South Carolina and beating MSU 2-1 in a three game set. The Hogs had series ending losses to Ole Miss in extra innings (13) and LSU (10).
Arkansas will miss a chance to up their RPI ranking against a ranked non-conference opponent as the Tuesday match up against the Oklahoma Sooners has been cancelled due to inclement weather.
The Hogs next ranked opponent will be the Kentucky Wildcats May 3-5 in Lexington.
The SEC Tournament begins May 21, running through the 26 before regional NCAA play starts on May 30th.
