Fayetteville, Ark. – Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema added another key piece to the Razorbacks 2014 recruiting season after getting a verbal commitment from top in-state tight end prospect Jack Kraus from Bentonville.
Kraus, 6’5”, 225 pounds, was made aware of his offer by Arkansas tight ends coach Barry Lunney, Jr. Lunney was the offensive coordinator for the Bentonville Tigers program before being hired by Bielema.
The Tigers made it to the Class 7-A state finals during the 2012 season powered by Kraus’ blocking and receiving abilities. Early in his recruiting process, Kraus had already received offers from Illinois and Utah State while drawing interest from Alabama, Oregon, and LSU per reports.
247Sports and Rivals ranks Kraus as a three-star tight end with 247Sports slotting him as the 14th best player in the nation at his position.
Arkansas has already received a verbal commitment from two other in-state players, defensive tackle Bijhon Jackson (El Dorado) and running back Juan Day (North Little Rock).
