2013 CFB Recruiting: Hogs Top Choice for Walk-On Austin Boice

Fayetteville, Ark. – The Arkansas Razorbacks have received another great walk-on commitment this time from offensive tackle Austin Boice on Monday night.

Austin Boice’s announcement may not move Razorback Nation the way running back Alex Collins verbal commitment did on Monday but one cannot overlook the importance of quality players up and down a college football roster, walk-on or otherwise.

Boice, 6’7”, 300 pounds, played his prep career at Lamar High School in Lamar, MO. Scout.com rates Boice as a two-star player.

Joining Boice as fellow walk-ons is former four-star quarterback/athlete A.J. Derby and fullback Patrick Arinze.

Derby, 6’4”, 218 pounds, comes to Arkansas after attending University of Iowa and Coffeyville Community College. Derby was a teammate of Arkansas 2013 commitment Martell Spaight at Coffeyville.

Arinze, 5’11”, 220 pounds, played his high school ball for St. Augustine High School in San Diego. After high school he played for Grossmont Community College in El Cajon, CA.

Boice reportedly received scholarship offers from Tulsa and Wyoming but decided to walk-on at Arkansas instead.
