2013 CFB Recruiting: Arkansas Scored Three Verbal Commitments on Sunday

Fayetteville, Ark. – The Arkansas Razorback coaching staff scored a coup of sorts over the weekend securing three verbal commitments as of Sunday out of seven prospects visiting. The third commitment was defensive tackle Ke’tyrus Marks.

Earlier on Sunday the Hogs received the good news that safety De’Andre Coley and cornerback D.J. Dean wanted to accept the scholarship offered to them from Arkansas. Needing defensive linemen in the trenches, Marks fills a much needed piece to Razorback head coach Bret Bielema’s first recruiting class in Fayetteville.

Marks, 6’2”, 285 pounds, is from Riviera Beach, FL, and played for Suncoast High School. He’s the 16th verbal commitment for the Hogs. 247Sports rates Marks as a three-star prospect

Marks reportedly has offers from Wake Forest, Western Kentucky, and Florida Atlantic among other schools. Arkansas defensive line coach Charlie Partridge was Marks’ lead recruiter.

Regarding the other four recruits visiting offensive tackles Kenny Lacy, Dwayne Johnson, Denver Kirkland, and running back Alex Collins, Arkansas is in a wait and see mode with each.

Lacy is a UCLA commitment, Collins was previously committed to Miami and officially visited the Hurricanes days before arriving to Fayetteville, and Kirkland’s signing/announcement is planned to air live on ESPN on National Signing Day.

The addition of the three verbal commitments has moved Arkansas’ ranking on Rivals up from No. 65 to No. 58. 247Sports ranks the Hogs class at No. 41.
