Fayetteville, Ark. – Bret Bielema and staff have confirmed an official visit from 5-star running back Alex Collins for Jan. 25.
Collins, 5’11”, 207 pounds, has made quick use of two years of playing high school football at the highest classification in the state of Florida at Fort Lauderdale South Plantation High School. During his junior season, his first year of high school football, Collins rushed for 1,721 yards with 27 touchdowns. Collins then finished his senior campaign with over 1,400 rushing yards despite missing three games with an injury.
Collins is rated by 247Sports as the No. 17 high school prospect in the nation, Rivals ranks him as a four-star and the 11th best running back in the nation while Scout rates Collins as the No. 32 player in the nation regardless of position.
With only one official recruiting visit left to be taken, Collins evidently has a strong bond with Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema as he used one visit to Wisconsin on Oct. 5. The other visits went to Florida State, Florida, and Miami (Jan. 18), a school Collins was a one-time commitment to.
