Fayetteville, Ark. – Details regarding University of Arkansas new head football coach have been released. If Bret Bielema’s contract tells Razorback Nation anything it screams loud and clear that Bielema will be on the Hill for years to come as college football’s 10th highest grossing head coach in FBS.
The base line of Bielema’s contract is worth $3.2 million over six years. The eye catching amount is the $12.8 million payment the Razorbacks new coach would receive if fired within the first three years without cause.
The buyout starts at $3 million and decreases each year by $500,000.
Arkansas will pay the $1 million buyout owed to Wisconsin for Bielema leaving before his contract expired in 2016.
The contract is laced with standard head coaching incentives based on quality of bowls, SEC Championships, BCS Championships, and playoff wins starting in 2014. The total bonuses could amount to an extra $700,000 for Bielema.
Included into the contract are 20 tickets to all home games, 12 skybox tickets, two cars, and country club memberships among other perks.
The new contract is a $600,000 a year raise over his previous contract with Wisconsin.
