2013 College Football Recruiting: Hogs Flip Morgan, an ASU Commitment

Fayetteville, Ark. – Amid the uncertainty surrounding the University of Arkansas football coaching search, in-state wide receiver Drew Morgan flipped his verbal commitment from Arkansas State to the Razorbacks on Monday.

Morgan, 6’0”, 180 pounds from Greenwood high school, informed Arkansas recruiting coordinator Tim Horton that he would call the Hogs in college after a stellar prep career that included a junior season of 1,334 receiving yards on 77 catches with 23 touchdowns.

Showing his versatility on offense he rushed the pigskin 16 times for 169 yards with two scores as a junior. The 2011 season finished with the Bulldogs second straight 5-A state championship.

The Bulldogs won their third straight state championship in 2012 this time in Class 6-A beating Pine Bluff 51-44, last season’s 6-A state champion.

In the state semi-final game Morgan had nine catches for 66 yards with one touchdown and 69 yards rushing with three scores.

Maxpreps.com rates Morgan as the state’s third best player. 247sports.com ranks Morgan as the state’s 13th best prospect.

Morgan has received offers from Arkansas State and Georgetown before becoming the Razorbacks’ 17th verbal commitment.
