2012 Arkansas Football: Smith Earns SEC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week

Fayetteville, Ark. – The SEC announced on Monday that junior defensive end Chris Smith has earned his second defensive lineman of the week honors for his play against University of Tulsa.

Against the Golden Hurricane offense Smith was all over the field registering two pass breakups, two quarterback hurries, forced a fumble, while tallying a career-high eight tackles in a game with 1.5 tackles for a loss and 1 sack.

Smith previously earned lineman of the week honors in the Hogs opener against Jacksonville State.

Smith leads the Razorbacks with 5.5 sacks for a total of 54 yards lost and tackles for a loss with eight.

The Razorbacks will have their hands full with No. 8 South Carolina’s read-option offense this week in Columbia.

Florida’s Sharrif Floyd had five tackles, three tackles for a loss, and one sack against Missouri to earn co-defensive lineman honors.
