Fayetteville, Ark. – The Arkansas Razorback coaching staff added their 17th verbal commitment to their 2013 recruiting class during the bye week when John McClure pledged to the Hogs.
McClure, 6’4”, 320 pounds, was a second-team All-American offensive tackle for Butler County Junior College last season and a Kansas First-Team All-State selection during his senior year in high school at Wichita Heights.
Kansas State enrolled McClure as a walk-on in 2010 before he transferred to Butler County Community College after the fall semester.
The Razorbacks will be in need of offensive linemen from the junior college ranks that are ready to start during the 2013 college football season. The Hogs will lose tackle Jason Peacock and guard Tyler Deacon to graduation with the possibility of losing guard Alvin Bailey and center Travis Swanson as early NFL entries, all starters.
Mitchell Bell, 6’4”, 330, is the only other offensive lineman the Razorbacks has received a verbal commitment from for the 2013 recruiting class. Bell, a sophomore, plays guard for the Navarro Community College Bulldogs.
