Fayetteville, Ark. – The finalists for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award has been announced, among the 15 contenders includes Arkansas Razorback senior quarterback Tyler Wilson.
Wilson’s 2012 college football season has been interrupted by a concussion injury causing him to miss six quarters of action and one weather-shortened game but by reading over his stats, especially as compared to his peers, one would never know that he has missed a down of action this season.
Wilson sports at Top 25 quarterback rating of 158.3, is ninth overall in total passing yards (1,957), has thrown 14 touchdown passes with only five interceptions, while completing 60.5 percent of his passes.
The senior from Greenwood, Ark., is tied for 12th out of all FBS quarterbacks for most passing touchdowns. His 9.5 yards per completion average is sixth in the nation and tops in the SEC. Wilson is enjoying all of his success under center throwing the ball with 32 other college quarterbacks having attempted more passes than he (205).
The other Golden Arm Finalist includes:
Geno Smith – West Virginia
Matt Barkley – USC
Tajh Boyd – Clemson
Nick Florence – Baylor
Mike Glenn – N.C. State
