Fayetteville, Ark.– Arkansas head coach John L. Smith landed a key recruit for the 2014 Razorback recruiting class when quarterback Rafe Peavey verbally committed to the Hogs on Monday.
Peavey, a junior to be, is listed as a 6’2”, 205 pound dual-threat quarterback with 4.5 forty-yard speed.
The Bolivar, Missouri product completed 85 of 123 passes for 1,734 yards with 20 touchdowns during the 2011 high school football season. Peavey also ran for 465 yards and scored 13 rushing touchdowns.
Peavey picked Arkansas over offers from Boston College, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, and UCLA among others as he left Arkansas’ football camp on Monday.
The Hogs have seven verbal commitments for the 2013 recruiting class.
