NCAA Basketball: Arkansas Adds Final Commitment to 2012 Recruiting Class

Fayetteville, Ark- Wednesday Arkansas Razorback men’s basketball coach Mike Anderson received a verbal commitment from Lawson State junior college forward Coty Clarke.

Clarke, 6’7”, 220 pounds, is listed as a small forward but he may be the athletic forward the Hogs need to help provide defense on the blocks and bang the boards. Clarke was second in the junior college ranks with a 13.5 rebound per game average during the 2012 season while averaging 16.2 points per game.

Clarke, rated as a three-star recruit, finished his high school career at Pinson Valley in Birmingham, Alabama, before enrolling at Lawson C.C., also in Birmingham.

Once Clarke officially signs with the Hogs he will join fellow Birmingham forward JaCorey Williams, Louisiana point guard Dee Wagner, Tennessee shooting guard Anthlon Bell, and Louisiana forward Michael Qualls as part of the 2012 Arkansas Razorback recruiting class.

Clarke received offers from Mississippi State, Georgia, Bradley, and Auburn before choosing the Razorbacks.

Clarke’s signing will complete Mike Anderson’s five-man 2012 recruiting class.
