Arkansas Razorback Baseball: Hogs Slide up One Spot on Collegiate Baseball Rankings

by Arkansas

The Arkansas Razorbacks improved their rankings in the Collegiate Baseball Top 30 from No. 5 to No. 4 after taking a three-game series from Alabama. The Hogs move in the polls was aided bySouth Carolina and North Carolina falling out of the top five rankings.

The most dramatic jump in the polls was the move from No. 16 to No. 2 by the Kentucky Wildcats. Kentucky has been the surprise team of the 2012 season. Adding to their early season success was the three game series they stole from then No. 2 South Carolina over the weekend.

The Wildcats remain the only unbeaten team in Division-1 baseball (21-0).

South Carolina and North Carolina dropped to No. 6 and No. 7 respectively in this week’s rankings.

Cal State Fullerton and Texas A&M tumbled out of the top 10 while Mississippi dropped from No. 15 to No. 26.

Oklahoma,Wake Forest, Cal, and Texas Tech all dropped out of the rankings while TCU, Texas, Baylor, and Appalachian State made the list.

Five of the top eight teams ranked this week are SEC teams. Collegiate Baseball ranks seven SEC teams, six Pac-12 teams, and five ACC teams.

Diamond Notes

No. 1 Florida took a one-game series from No. 6 Florida State last week.
